Though it claims to improve the quality of digital photos, we can’t vouch for this program’s performance or recommend it. JPEG Image Enhancer’s confusing interface gets things off to a bad start. Launching the program simply displays a blank white window surrounded by a few menu items. Although we were led to belive this application can work with batches of images, we only were able to open individual BMPs and JPEGs rather than folders. Supposedly, the program automatically enhances images, but we really wish it included tools for manually tweaking settings. The improved images didn’t appear much different from the older ones, and the option for comparing the new file to the original didn’t appear to work. Basically, the most useful thing we found about JPEG Image Enhancer is its feature for converting JPEGs to BMPs and vice versa. All things considered, most photographers won’t find this program worth their time.
